Mr. Keith G. Bremer, Attorney, Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP will be speaking at the 2016 CLM National Construction Claims Conference.  The conference will be held in the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California, September 28-30.  This National Conference will host at a minimum 500 professionals.

Heidrea for Heroes Announces Fall Success Readiness Seminar Series 2016; First Seminar, ...

Heidrea for Heroes (www.heidrea4heroes.org), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and support to military men and women facing challenges and hurdles after transitioning back to civilian life, announced the lineup for its Fall Success Readiness Seminar Series 2016, a free seminar series for veterans and their spouses looking to learn valuable information on managing their personal finances.  The first seminar in the series, “Borrowing Basics,” will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Massasoit Community College, 900 Randolph Street, Canton, Mass.

 

“Borrowing Basics” will teach veterans and their spouses the basics with regard to different types of loans and help them understand the difference between secured and unsecured loans.  Matilda Volpicelli, assistant vice president and branch manager for the Bank of Canton, will talk about the costs of getting a loan, which loans to be wary of (e.g., rent-to-own), and how to guard against predatory lending practices.

 

Future seminars will focus on the “Importance of Credit” (Tuesday, October 4, 6-7:30 p.m., Massasoit Community College, 900 Randolph Street, Canton, Mass.), “Saving for College” (Tuesday, October 25, 6-7:30 p.m., Massasoit Community College, 1 Massasoit Boulevard, Brockton, Mass.), and “Saving for Retirement” (Tuesday, November 15, 6-7:30 p.m., Massasoit Community College, 1 Massasoit Boulevard, Brockton, Mass.).
