HeadPal - The world's newest innovative smartphone accessory

Sydney, December 28, 2015 – Australian Start-Up, HeadPal is looking to ride the wave of the Federal Government’s “Ideas Boom” with the launch of its hands-free Smartphone device targeting the growing number of consumers watching content on mobiles.

With 85% of Australians owning a Smartphone by mid-2015[1] and an increasing number of consumers reporting to the doctor for ‘Tech Neck’[2], HeadPal provides the perfect solution, offering a brand new accessory which allows users to view media without the inconvenience of having to hold or balance their Smartphone device.

The government’s new innovation agenda will see a more holistic approach for innovative start-up businesses and addresses many parts of the innovation problem ranging from financial incentives for universities to link with business, offering a boost to venture capital, changes to corporate and tax laws to encourage start-ups, as well improved science and technology education in schools.

CEO and Founder HeadPal, Adam Agresta said that the announcement came at a great time for the business, which has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $X to support the commercialisation of the HeadPal device ahead of the planned March 2016 release.

“To compete with the global players in the industry is challenging, and has proven one of the biggest obstacles for start-ups in this arena. The fact that we will have a little more freedom and flexibility to compete on the world stage is a great place to start,” Adam said.

“It is fantastic to see the government raising the bar, and bringing start-ups onto the agenda is a welcome change for the sector. We need to now promote this initiative to the world and show that Australia really is a great home for start-ups. Giving innovators the encouragement and support to jump into building their own companies, which can be quite daunting, can only be a very valuable asset for us as a country.”

While there are many other Smartphone mount accessories are on the market, what makes HeadPal unique is its ability to morph into differed modes, with three main features to suit the needs of all users. The head-mount mode connects the device to over-ear Bluetooth headphones, positioning the media device at eye level. The table-mount mode is a sleek mouldable stand that holds the media device and can be positioned on any flat surface. The selfie stick mode enables users to move their media device whilst inserted in the device mount.
