Dallas, TX (Dec 26) –The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) is excited to be back at the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl. This partnership affords the opportunity to honor one of our nation’s heroes during a special on field presentation during the 2015 holiday bowl season. Retired US Army Sergeant First Class Bennett Garvin and his family will be recognized for his service. Earlier this year, the Garvin family received the gift of a fully renovated, mortgage-free home in Killeen, TX, donated by Wells Fargo and they will be formally presented a ceremonial key to commemorate this special event.
“Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl is an invaluable partner to our foundation in honoring our nation’s heroes and we are excited to be able to work with them and ESPN for a 3rd year.” said Ken Eakes, Executive Director of the Military Warriors Support Foundation. “Their passion to support our veterans parallels our own Mission. Together we can accomplish what we can only individually dream.”
Sergeant First Class Garvin served in the US Army from 2002-2015, which included three tours in Afghanistan in 2003, 2006 and 2007. He received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while performing combat operations in Afghanistan. He also received a Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal and Meritorious Unit Citation, among many other awards during his service.
The Garvin family is excited to spend the holiday season in their new Killeen home.
