Mr. Peter Townsend, District Manager, at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. will be speaking on “Defending Bath Tub Fall Cases and other Unique Falls at Hotels, Restaurants and Retail Businesses.” This conference will be held on February 4 &5 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Townsend is Civil Engineering Technology graduate from the University of Southern Indiana, and is a registered Professional Engineer. For over a decade he has been investigating pedestrian accidents, means of egress building code evaluations, walkway safety, and slip resistance testing. Mr. Townsend has conducted multiple investigations of walkway accidents occurring at hotels, parking structures, restaurants, grocery stores, and commercial buildings.
In the course of his work, he has developed a thorough working knowledge of current walkway safety standards, building codes, and ADA design requirements. Mr. Townsend has also served as a consultant in the evaluation of existing facilities to determine their compliance with codes and safety standards and is a member of ASTM International Committee F13 on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear.
