FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Luxurious aircraft-grade eyewear boasts polarized lenses and titanium flex hinges ideal for everyday use.

Chicago, IL – January 14, 2016 – The ingenious minds behind the Flow carbon fiber and titanium sunglasses – including innovative entrepreneur Evan Helfrich of Chicago, Illinois – have launched a Kickstarter campaign to make the dream of creating unique eyewear both luxurious and more durable than the industry standard a reality.

Features of the highly-anticipated sunglasses include a temperature-tolerant characteristic, making them perfect for every season; real hardened and compressed carbon fiber to provide substantial tensile strength-to-weight ratio; titanium flex hinges to ensure a comfortable fit every time – and which are more durable than standard stainless steel – 100-percent UV protection and multilayer polarization – removing the shine from surfaces while enhancing contrast – element-resistant hydrophobic lenses and hybrid REVO mirror coating to further reduce glare.

“In late 2014, we set out on a mission to create a pair of unique sunglasses that were both luxurious and more durable than the industry standard,” says Helfrich. “Now, this vision – perhaps a bit of pun intended – has become a vivid reality with the Flow carbon fiber and titanium sunglasses. These stylish pieces of eyewear are great for the outdoors and active lifestyles, and pair well with any accessories the user may be wearing. What’s more, the glasses boast a unique design and are not another ‘Wayfarer’ imitation, as they’ve been specifically designed for everyday use; by utilizing cutting-edge materials and a formidable design model, we’re setting off to make the next generation of sunglasses.”

According to Helfrich and Flow representatives, the research team spent more than a year iterating designs, creating seven different 3D printed models of both the frames and temples and researching manufacturers and materials. They then used the 3D printed models on actual test subjects to receive valuable user feedback regarding their impressions of the glasses’ unique design. What resulted was a decision to make the frame and temples out of carbon fiber for its optimum strength and weight properties.

“The first prototype we crafted summarized everything we wanted in sunglasses,” adds Helfrich. “They boasted the lenses, look, feel, durability, strength and ergonomics that higher-end sunglasses should have (but, to buyers’ dismay, often times don’t). These were tested for durability, strength and comfort for weeks before beginning our Kickstarter campaign; after becoming fed up with breaking many pairs of expensive glasses, our team came to the conclusion that they should last longer for their asking price, and that discriminating buyers should really get what they pay for. While current ‘brand-name’ sunglasses don’t offer this, Flow’s sure do.”
